壱岐 古代の島

壱岐の麦焼酎は1995年にWTOで地理的表示を得た世界初の焼酎。300人の海女が今も素潜り漁を続ける。壱岐牛は流通量が少なくほとんど島外に出ない幻の和牛。140以上の古墳が密集する「海の正倉院」で、日本の原点と出会う旅。

Iki barley shochu was the world's first to receive WTO geographical indication status (1995). Some 300 ama divers still work these waters. Iki beef is so scarce it rarely leaves the island. The 140+ burial mounds concentrated here earned it the name 'Marine Shosoin of ancient Japan'.
